We are 4 NYC DOE teachers, in 3 different schools and teach around 100 students total. We are all part of the same network CFN102 and we are using this website as a way to share information about I.C.T. classrooms and discuss our challenges and success stories.
Our goal is for teachers to use this website as a guide and as an open space to ask questions and respond to one another. Please post any questions or thoughts on our blog tab under "Quick Tips." Learn more about us and our schools below!

Miss Jamie
Jamie Silberstein started her career at P.S. 261 as a student teacher in the spring of 2009 and began teaching 5th grade that fall in an ICT classroom. She received her Masters at NYU and holds a degree in Elementary Education and Students with Disabilities grades 1-6. Jamie’s entire career has been in the ICT setting and she believes in the implementation of the ICT model because it creates a positive learning environment for all students. In the fall of 2011 Jamie had the opportunity to work alongside Dorothy Barnhouse and present her work utilizing progressive read-aloud strategies at the NCTE Conference in Chicago and she believes that read aloud work is the heart of every classroom. Jamie is an avid reader and is always looking for new children’s books to add to her library.
Miss Greto
Colleen Greto attended Syracuse University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in their Inclusion Elementary Education program. She continued her studies at Hunter College where she earned her Master's Degree in Literacy. Colleen is in her 9th year of teaching at P.S. 261 in Brooklyn, NY and for the past six years has been the Special Education component in an Integrated Co-Teaching classroom. Colleen has always had a love for literacy and especially enjoys teaching writing. She feels that watching the students grow and being able to see their progress is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching. Alongside Jamie Silberstein, Colleen also joined Dorothy Barnhouse at the NCTE Conference in Chicago. Here, teachers from all over the United States were able to see classroom footage and engage in discussions about how read-aloud is used in our classrooms.
